Graduating with Honours (Magna Cum Laude ) from Florida International University with a Degree in Sports Management, he began his journey with the Cayman Islands Government in 2002 as a Sport Coordinator. His hard work and aptitude quickly propelled him up the ranks in the organization and he became the youngest Director of Sports in Cayman Islands history.
Anglin helped to raise the overall profile of sports in the Cayman Islands during his 10 years as Director. During his tenure, his team of coaches were able to help more than 40 athletes gain partial or full athletic scholarships, resulting in over $500,000.00 in Educational funding saved.
Anglin was instrumental in more than 40 international events held in the Cayman Islands ranging from Athletics, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Netball and more. He forged international relationships to help create more opportunities for exposure for Cayman’s promising athletes.
Anglin provided policy advice to 3 different Ministries and Portfolios while developing great relationships within the public and private sector, resulting in successful partnerships. He also provided assistance and support to more than 15 different National Associations on issues ranging from structure, efficiency, membership growth, market positioning, long term planning and international events.
During his time as Director of Sports for the Cayman Islands, Anglin was responsible for the overseeing and coordinating the delivery of more than 40 community programs, 12 sports camps, 2000 school sports instruction sessions, over 10 recreational leagues/events and multiple workshops throughout the Island of Grand Cayman annually. He and his team frequently developed programs to address a vast array of situations and age groups (such as active lifestyle promotion and reducing youth crime) that touched the lives of thousands of people each year. Anglin developed sports programs and manuals for various organizations such as the University College of the Cayman Islands and Community organizations interested in adding sports to their service offerings.
He also was responsible for the management & coordination of over 12 different facilities amounting to over five hundred thousand square feet of recreational space. There was more than 1000 hours of officially booked activities each month from more than 50 different organizations at these various facilities.
Anglin led infrastructure & capital projects amounting to more than 5 million dollars during this tenure. These projects ranged from new hard courts to synthetic turf & track installations. He also provided guidance with many other sports-related projects not under his direct remit.
